In a tragic situation, a pregnant mom from Milwaukee, was bludgeoned with a baseball bat, strangled and then her growing fetus was cut from her abdomen with an exacto knife. Maritza Ramirez-Cruz was then dragged to the basement and left to die.
Annette Morales-Rodriguez, 33, was desperate to have a baby of her own and told family and friends that she was pregnant. She said she offered Maritza Ramirez-Cruz a ride when she saw that she was very pregnant.
Morales-Rodrigues told police that her boyfriend wanted a baby so she told him she was pregnant. When she didn’t get pregnant and the time was approaching for her fake due date, she said she resorted to finding a pregnant woman so that she could take her baby and raise it as her own.
Morales-Rodriguez later showed up at the the hospital telling the ER staff that her baby boy was not breathing and that she had given birth at home in her living room. She said she didn’t know she was pregnant and left the hospital without being examined by a physician.
Police later went to the home of Morales-Rodriguez and took her to be examined by a physician. When police determined that she had not recently given birth, she was charged and arrested. The medical examiner’s report indicated that the baby died from being forcibly removed from his mother’s womb. The mother’s ovaries were, in fact, still attached to her baby.
According to Ramirez-Cruz’s husband, he said he is shocked that his wife got into a strangers car as it is just something she would not normally do.
