A 12 year old Boy Scout is reunited with his family and survives more than twenty hours, overnight, alone in the woods in Ashley National Forest of Utah.
On Friday, Jared Ropelato was walking by himself from a lake to the Troop’s near-by camp when he soon found that he was lost. As the day wore on he realized his need to prepare for the night and remembering his Scout training, he built a makeshift lean-to out of tree branches.
When the temperatures dropped, he dug a hole and covered himself with dirt to stay warm, in the end surviving a night chill in the 40′s. After a scare with a bull-moose and a fall into a river he was found by searchers on ATVs on Saturday morning.
