Botox on an Eight Year Old?

I can’t believe what I saw on Good Morning America, this morning. Pictures of eight year old, Britney Cambell, being given Botox, by her mother. Isn’t Botox for wrinkles? What eight year old has wrinkles? Is this mother crazy? This is beyond abuse! Don’t you need a license to inject this stuff into somebody?

This mother is giving her daughter poison in order to win a pageant. I think she has gone way too far. I think this should be considered child abuse. Please tell me that there aren’t other mothers out there doing this also.

Correct me if I am wrong, but haven’t people died from Botox? Where is the father? I want to hear what he thinks about his little girl going through these treatments. Shouldn’t this be considered child endangerment?

My daughters did pageants when they were younger but we did not do something crazy to win. I tried very hard to have my daughters focus on attitude, smile and personality. In fact, my oldest daughter used to go up and congratulate the other contestants when they would win. It was a genuine congratulation. Many of the other contestants were her friends. She could not win all the time and she knew that. It wasn’t about winning to her. It was about being dressed up like a princess for the evening. She really enjoyed that.

This is just a mother trying to live her dream through her daughter. I would love to know if Britney’s mother has ever been in pageants. I think the worst thing about the show was they showed pictures of Britney with a puffy face, bruises and icepacks to help with the swelling.

In my opinion, this mother has gone way too far to have her daughter bring home a trophy. She is teaching her that she is not beautiful unless she modifies her looks. That is awful for a child who is eight years old to think this way. Leave a comment and tell me what you think?
